Holistic Pediatrician Philadelphia, PA
Whole-Child Care Grounded in Proven Medicine
A holistic pediatrician is a licensed medical doctor who cares for the whole child. That means combining the best of conventional medicine with complementary care that supports a child's body, mind, and family life. At Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics, holistic care isn't a replacement for good medicine. It builds on it.
Since 2009, families in Fairmount, Spring Garden, the Art Museum area, Brewerytown, Francisville, Logan Square, Northern Liberties, and across Philadelphia have come to our Philadelphia office for care that sees their child as a whole person, not a list of symptoms. Our pediatricians are board-certified MDs and DOs who follow rigorous, up-to-date medical standards. Through our Affiliate Program, we add integrative services under the same roof, including nutrition counseling, lactation support, behavioral health, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and yoga therapy.
The result is one coordinated team focused on your child's health from every angle, from birth through age 21.
Our Philadelphia Office
In addition to our Philadelphia location, we also have locations in East Norriton and Ardmore.
How Our Holistic Pediatricians Care for Your Child
Nutrition Counseling with Registered Dietitians
Food affects everything from energy and mood to growth and immunity. Our registered dietitians work with families on starting solids, picky eating, low iron, food allergies, and more. Their approach draws on intuitive eating and the principle that kids can be healthy at any size. The focus is on a positive, balanced relationship with food, not restriction. Saturday dietitian appointments make it easier for working parents to attend.
Emotional Wellness and Yoga Therapy
A child's emotional health is as important as their physical health. Our providers screen for anxiety, depression, attention challenges, and stress. They then connect families with support, often from our on-site psychologist and behavioral therapists. For a gentler, body-based option, our certified yoga therapist offers individual sessions and family group classes at our Philadelphia office. Sessions use movement and breath to help children and teens manage emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
Breastfeeding and Newborn Support
The first weeks with a new baby shape so much of what comes next. Several of our pediatricians are Certified Lactation Counselors, and an internationally board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) sees families right in our office. Together they help with latch, supply, pumping, and feeding plans. This way, both baby and parent feel supported through the transition, not just checked on.
Lifestyle Medicine and Prevention
Healthy habits formed in childhood can last a lifetime. Our team includes a pediatrician who is double board-certified in Pediatrics and Lifestyle Medicine. She has a special interest in helping families build routines around sleep, activity, nutrition, and stress that support lifelong wellbeing. Every
preventive care visit is a chance to look at the whole picture of your child's health, not just the checklist.
Therapies Under One Roof
When a child needs extra help with movement, speech, or daily-living skills, driving across the city to separate specialists adds stress. Physical, occupational, and speech therapists see patients directly at our Philadelphia office. They work closely with your child's pediatrician so everyone stays on the same page.

Integrative Health Resources for Philadelphia Parents
Many parents want to know whether supplements, natural remedies, and complementary therapies actually work. Our clinicians wrote the resources below to give you an honest look at the evidence, including where it's strong, where it's limited, and what's safe to try:
A Philosophy Built on Partnership
Holistic care starts with listening. Our practice is built on open communication with both parents and children, and on the belief that supporting parents is part of caring for kids. We explain our reasoning, welcome your questions, and make decisions together.
That includes vaccines. We encourage vaccinations and follow evidence-based immunization guidelines, and we also respect parents' choices. We take time to talk through your questions openly and without judgment. You can explore our vaccine information anytime.
Several of our physicians are Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs), whose training emphasizes the whole person and the connection between body systems. Combined with the experience of our MDs and certified pediatric nurse practitioners, our team brings depth and balance to every visit.

Welcoming New Patients in Philadelphia
Give your child a pediatric team that cares for body, mind, and family. Our Philadelphia office is accepting new patients, from newborns to young adults.

What is a holistic pediatrician?
A holistic pediatrician is a licensed medical doctor who specializes in children's health. They combine conventional Western medicine with complementary, whole-person care. At Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics, that means board-certified pediatric care supported by on-site nutrition, lactation, behavioral health, therapy, and yoga therapy services.
-
Are your holistic pediatricians medical doctors?
Yes. Our pediatricians are licensed, board-certified MDs and DOs, supported by experienced certified pediatric nurse practitioners. Our integrative services add to their care and never replace it.
-
Does holistic care mean you avoid medications or antibiotics?
No. We prescribe medications when a child needs them. We also look at nutrition, sleep, stress, and family routines, and we often start with the simplest effective approach. Every recommendation is grounded in evidence.
-
What is your approach to vaccines?
We encourage vaccinations and follow evidence-based immunization guidelines. We also respect parents' choices. We're happy to talk through any questions or concerns you have.
-
What is yoga therapy, and who can attend?
Yoga therapy uses movement, breath, and gentle conversation to help with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Our certified yoga therapist offers individual sessions and age-based group classes, including parent-and-child groups, at our Philadelphia office on scheduled weeks. Sessions are booked directly with the therapist.
-
Can you advise us on supplements like probiotics?
Yes. Our pediatricians can talk with you about probiotics and other supplements based on current research and your child's health history. Our Probiotics page is a good place to start.
-
Do you see patients outside of Philadelphia?
Yes. In addition to our Philadelphia office at 2000 Hamilton Street, we have offices in East Norriton and Ardmore, and families can be seen at any location.
