James (Jimmy) Segilia, MS, CCC-SLP
Pediatrics
James "Jimmy" Segilia, M.S., CCC-SLP is a certified Speech Language Pathologist specializing in treating communication disorders in children. He has spent his career working in early intervention programs and schools focused on expanding the functional communication skills of kids in the Philadelphia area.
Jimmy uses a collaborative approach in his practice to involve the child, parents, caregivers, and others to improve a child's ability to communicate outside of structured speech/language therapy sessions. Jimmy has experience working with children diagnosed with a speech or language impairment, developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, multiple disabilities, cerebral palsy, deafness, intellectual disability, ADD, ADHD, and childhood apraxia of speech. His therapeutic practices focus largely on using evidence based interventions along with clinical expertise. Each session is aligned with clear goals and expectations while creating a fun, functional, and enjoyable environment for each child.
Jimmy has experience and professional training targeting receptive/expressive language, speech sound production, motor coordination (apraxia), social skills (pragmatics), stuttering (fluency), or with children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to ensure a child's needs are being met with autonomy.
Jimmy offers speech and language screenings and treatment sessions to address areas of need. A brief, 45 minute quick screen will include an informal assessment of your child’s speech sound production, language comprehension and expressive communication skills. You may want to consider a speech/language screening if you have concerns regarding your child’s communication abilities or if they are not meeting the age expected milestones. The fee is $60.00 and scheduling is done on a rolling basis.
